우선 양주시는 자유업으로 등록된 중고차 수출업체에 대한 현황 파악과 관리를 위해 관할 세무서에 사업자등록 자료를 요청하는 한편 각 읍면동과 자동차 해체 재활용업체 등을 통한 운영 실태를 파악에 나섰다고 전했다.

이와 함께 단속의 실효성을 높이기 위해 주정차단속 담당공무원과 읍면동 산업담당 공무원으로 구성된 현장단속반을 편성해 방치차량 현황 점검을 실시한다고 했다.

현장단속반은 자동차 해체 재활용업체 외부에 적치된 폐자동차의 실태 파악과 더불어 중고차 수출업체 운영 현황을 조사해 무단 방치된 폐차 차량에 대한 일반·수출말소 여부를 확인한 뒤 무등록업체의 불법폐차 행위에 대해 고발조치를 시행할 예정이라고 했다.
