[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 6일 양주시 회천4동 사회단체협의회는 사회단체별 사업을 공유하고 지역현안을 논의하기 위한 임시회를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 회의는 이창열 동장, 각 사회단체장등이 참석한 가운데 단체별 특화사업과 건의사항을 공유하고 포스트 코로나19 시대의 지역 발전 방안에 대한 토의와 각종 지역 현안에 대한 다양한 의견을 논의하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.  

특히 지난 5일 부임한 제12대 이창열 동장은 코로나19 확산 예방을 위해 취임식을 생략하고 이날 회의에서 사회단체장들과 상견례를 하며 동정 운영에 관한 다양한 의견을 청취했다고 했다.

조성경 협의회장은 “지역 현안에 밝은 이창열 동장님이 부임하여 주민들과 사회단체의 기대가 크다”며 “회천4동이라는 큰 도화지에 멋있는 점 하나를 찍고 가시라”며 재치 있는 덕담과 함께 환영의 뜻을 밝혔다. 

이창열 동장은 “종합발전계획상 회천권역 중 가장 큰 지역인 회천4동장으로 부임해 막중한 책임감을 느낀다”며 “관내 유관기관 및 각 사회단체협의회장과 소통과 협력을 통해 지역의 가치를 높일 수 있도록 맡은바 소임을 다해 동정업무를 운영해 나가겠다”고 화답했다. 

한편 이창열 회천4동장은 지난 5일 소통과 협력을 강조하며 옥정지구대와 옥정119안전센터 및 옥정사회복지관 등 지역 유관기관 방문과 민생 현장 방문하는 것으로 본격적인 동정 업무를 추진했다고 밝혔다.
