[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도경찰청은 통학버스 어린이 안전 확보 및 사고 예방을 위해 ‘관계기관＊합동 어린이통학버스 합동점검’을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

 

＊경찰·지자체·교육청·교통안전공단 등 참여 ‘합동점검반’ 편성

 

이번 점검은 11월 16일부터 12월 31일까지 진행되며, 지역별 ‘합동점검반’이 통학버스 신고 및 종합보험 가입 여부, 운영자·운전자·동승보호자 안전교육 이수 여부, 운행기록일지 작성 여부, 자동차안전기준(좌석안전띠, 하차확인장치, 가시광선투과율 70% 이상 등) 적합 여부 등을 점검한다고 했다.

 

위반사항이 확인되면 현장 ‘계도·단속’ 및 ‘시정명령’을 차량구조장치 부적합에 대하여는 ‘정비명령’이 내려지게 되는데 개정 도로교통법 시행으로 새롭게 통학버스 적용을 받게 된 시설＊에 대해서도 면밀하게 살펴 촘촘한 어린이 안전망을 구축한다는 방침이라고 했다.

 

＊ 통학버스 신고 의무시설 확대(도로교통법 제2조 제23호)

현행 도로교통법 제51조(어린이통학버스의 특별보호)는 어린이통학버스가 정차한 차로와 바로 옆 차로로 통행하는 운전자는 우선 일시정지하여 안전을 확인 후 서행, 모든 차의 운전자는 어린이 보호표시를 한 상태로 도로를 통행하는 어린이통학버스 앞지르기 금지 등의 특별보호 의무를 규정하고 있다고 했다.
