[김준호 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 지난 22일부터 저소득 청년층에게 1년간 월세 최대 20만원을 지원하는 ‘청년 월세 한시 특별지원사업’을 시행했다.

이번 사업은 코로나19 장기화로 인한 하기 위해 정부가 한시적으로 추진하는 사업이다.

지원 대상은 부모님과 별도 거주하고 임차보증금 5,000만원, 월세 60만원 이하 주택에 거주하는 청년 만 19∼34세 이하 무주택 청년(전입신고 필수)으로 기준 중위소득 60% 이하이며 부모 포함 원가구의 소득기준도 기준 중위소득 100%이하여야 한다.

월세 지원신청은 8월 22일부터 1년간 신청이 가능하고, 소득·재산 등의 심사를 거쳐 2022년 11월부터 지원금을 지급받을 수 있으며, 8월에 신청한 경우 11월에 3개월분을 소급해 지급 받는다.

신청방법은 임대차 계약증빙 서류, 가족관계증명서, 통장사본, 임대료 3개월 납입영수증(계좌이체 내역) 등의 구비서류를 갖춰 복지로 또는 주소지 관할 행정복지센터로 접수하면 된다.

시 관계자는 “ ‘청년월세 한시 특별지원금’이 경제적으로 어려운 청년들의 주거비 부담 문제에 보탬이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 청년 가구 주거 안정과 지역 정착을 돕기 위해 다양한 시책을 발굴해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
