[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 8일 가평군 한우육종농가협의회는 설악면 위곡리에 소재한 한우육종농가에 생산된 고능력 우량 암송아지(6개월령 600만원 상당)를 가평군 한우연합회 회원농가에게 기증했다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 한우개량을 선도하고 있는 한우육종농가의 우수한 유전자원을 가평군 한우농가에 보급하여 한우개량을 통한 생산성 향상으로 농가 소득증대 및 가평한우산업발전에 기여하고자 추진됐다고 했다.

가평군 한우육종농가협의회에서는 가평군 한우연합회와 협력하여 회원농가(192명)를 대상으로 송아지 추첨행사를 통해 북면 화악리 정원진 농가에게 우량 송아지 1두를 전달했으며, 이번 우량 송아지 기증행사는 2019년도에 시작된 이래 2번째로, 가평군 한우육종농가협의회는 앞으로도 기증행사를 이어 나가기로 했다고 전했다.

이병환 협의회장은 “가평군이 전국 지자체 중 육종농가 최다 보유(5개소) 지자체로 앞으로도 우수한 유전자원의 보급을 통해 가평군 한우개량에 이바지 할수 있도록 노력하겠다“로 말했다.

남서우 회장은 2번째로 기증한 이해건 육종농가 대표에게 감사 인사를 전하며, 지역사회에 봉사하고 상생의 길을 위해 노력하는 가평군 한우육종농가농가협의회의 발전을 바란다”고 덧붙였다.
