[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 7일 GH는 서울대학교(공과대학)와 ‘산학협력 UAM‧스마트시티 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결하였다고 밝혔다.

서울대학교에서 열린 이날 협약식에는 GH 이헌욱 사장과 서울대학교 차국헌 공과대학장을 비롯한 관계자 9명이 참석한 가운데, UAM·스마트시티와 관련해 양 기관이 상호 협력기반을 구축하기로 했다고 전했다.

UAM(Urban Air Mobility)이란 도심항공교통을 의미하며 스마트시티와 연계하여 대도시권 인구집중‧지상교통망 혼잡 해결수단으로 활약이 기대되는 첨단기술 항공교통수단이라고 했다.

정부는 제3차 항공정책 기본계획 및 K-UAM 로드맵을 통해 UAM 선도국가 도약 및 도시경쟁력을 강화하고 첨단기술을 통해 미래형 일자리를 창출할 계획이라고 전했다.

GH는 이번 협약을 통해 서울대와 UAM‧스마트시티 관련 공동연구를 실시하고 관련 아이디어 공유와 실증단지 적용협조 등 산학연 협력 체계를 구축하게 된다고 말했다. 

K-UAM 로드맵에서 제시한 준비기인 2024년까지는 새로이 조성되는 3기 신도시와 산업단지 등에 적용 가능한 이슈과제를 발굴하고 도시계획 가이드라인을 수립하여 UAM 생태계 기반을 마련할 계획이라고 했다.

UAM이 일부 상용화되는 2025년 이후에는 기존 교통수단과 연계할 수있는 도시플랫폼 구축을 통하여 목적지까지 끊김없는 이동 편의성을 제공하고, 드론을 활용한 산업단지 연계형 물류도시 모델 발굴에도 힘쓸 계획이라고 했다. 

GH 이헌욱 사장은 “이번 산학협력이 4차 산업혁명 시대 패러다임 변화의 핵심으로 주목받는 UAM 생태계 조성의 시발점이자 이동수단 중심 도시플랫폼 개발의 마중물이 되길 기대한다.”라고 밝혔다.
