[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 산림청 국립자연휴양림관리소는“지난해 12월부터의 동절기 휴장기간을 마치고 국립화천숲속야영장의 반려견 동반 데크의 운영을 올해 4월 1일부터 재개한다.”고 밝혔다. 

국립화천숲속야영장은 2020년 11월부터 시범운영을 거쳐 반려견 동반이 가능한 4개의 사이트를 운영중이다. 일반 이용객과 반려견 동반 이용객의 이동 동선을 고려하여 선정한 제1야영장(1～4번 데크)을 반려견 동반하여 이용 가능하며 야영장 주변으로 울타리와 야자매트를 설치하여 안전하고 자유롭게 이용할 수 있도록 했다고 전했다.

국립화천숲속야영장의 반려견 동반 입장 기준은 기존 운영 중인 반려견 동반 휴양림과 동일하다.입장 가능한 반려견은 동물등록을 완료한 반려견, 나이 6개월 이상 반려견, 15㎏이하 중소형견, 최근 1년 이내 광견병 예방접종 완료한 반려견으로, 안전사고 예방을 위해 야영장 내에서는 반드시 목줄을 착용해야 한다고 했다.

안의섭 동부지역팀장은 “장기화된 코로나19로 일상에 지친 이용객과 반려견이 편히 즐기고 쉴 수 있는 국립자연휴양림이 되도록 노력 하겠다”며 “일반 이용객들뿐만 아니라 반려인들이 편히 이용할 수 있는 시설물들을 향후 운영에 적극 반영하여 성숙한 산림휴양문화·반려동물 복지 문화 발전에 더 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
