[브레이크뉴스 양주 = 김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시 장흥면(면장 이정수)은 오는 28일 시승격 20주년 기념 ‘우이령 단풍길 맨발 걷기대회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

양주시 장흥면체육회(회장 김성재)가 주관하는 이번 대회는 일상 속 운동인 걷기를 통해 건강 증진을 도모하는 한편 가을 단풍 명소인 우이령 길을 홍보하고자 마련됐다.

이번 대회는 오전 9시 30분 장흥면 우이령길 교현탐방지원센터 집결 후 사전 안내 및 환경보호 캠페인을 시작으로 청량한 가을바람을 느끼며 자연 속을 거니는 우이령 단풍길 맨발 걷기(교현탐방지원센터 ~ 유격장, 2.3km), 대회식 및 축하공연 순으로 진행된다.

김성재 회장은 “소중한 사람들과 함께 우이령 단풍길 맨발 걷기대회에 참가하여, 아름다운 단풍길을 맨발로 느끼며 가을을 만끽하는 시간을 가지시길 바란다”라고 전했다.

한편, ‘우이령 길’은 우마차가 다니던 길로 소귀고개라고도 불리던 경기도 양주시 장흥면 교현리와 서울시 강북구 우이동을 잇는 지름길로 양주시 구간은 3.7㎞, 서울시 구간은 3.1㎞ 총 6.8㎞의 비포장도로이다.
