[브레이크뉴스 양주 = 김태영 기자] 경기도 양주시(시장 강수현)는 오늘부터 다음달 4일까지 5주간 정당 현수막의 난립을 막기 위해 12개 읍·면·동과 함께 일제 점검 및 정비를 실시한다고 7일 밝혔다.
이번 점검은 지난달 12일부터 정당 현수막 관리를 강화하고자 옥외광고물법이 개정됨에 따라 개선된 제도가 조기에 정착하고 쾌적한 도시미관을 조성하기 위해 기획했다.
이번에 개정된 옥외광고물법의 주요 내용은 정당별로 읍·면·동별 2개 이내의 현수막만 게시할 수 있고, 어린이보호구역·소방시설 설치 구역 5m 이내 설치가 금지된다.
또한, 보행자나 차량 운전자 시야를 가릴 우려가 있는 교차로, 건널목, 버스정류장 주변은 높이 2.5m 이상으로 설치해야 하며, 정당명칭·연락처·게시 기간(15일) 표시, 글자 크기 세로 5cm 이상 등으로 정당 현수막의 설치개수, 장소, 규격, 표시 방법 등을 구체적으로 제한하고 있다.
시는 개정된 법령을 기준으로 점검을 통해 정당 현수막 금지 장소 설치 여부, 정당별·지역별 설치개수, 표시·설치 방법 준수 여부 등을 중점 확인하고 위반 현수막은 해당 정당에 자진 철거, 이동 설치 등 시정요구 후 미이행 시 시에서 철거할 방침이다.
아울러, 각 정당과 관내 현수막 제작설치업체를 대상으로 개정 법령 및 정비계획을 안내하고 적극적인 협조를 당부하기도 했다.
시 관계자는 “정당 현수막 등 불법광고물에 따른 시민들의 불편과 사고 예방을 위해 적극적인 정비를 지속해서 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
