Yangju City, Announcement of Recruitment of Members of the 2nd Child Participation Committee

  The Child Participation Committee is a child participation organization that directly promotes children's rights as the subject of child policy.

 

  A total of 30 members of the 2nd Child Participation Committee are recruited, and any child between the ages of 10 and 15 (4th grade of elementary school to 3rd grade of middle school) who has registered as a resident in Yangju or is attending a school in the jurisdiction can apply.

 

  If selected as a member, for two years after appointment ▲ Present opinions on child-related policy establishment/implementation and analysis/evaluation process, ▲ Present opinions on child rights, ▲ Participate in events related to the creation of a child-friendly city, ▲ Plan directly by the Child Participation Committee It will carry out activities such as promotion of business.

 

The committee can hold regular meetings twice a year and extraordinary meetings if the chairperson deems it necessary.

     

Children who wish to participate can download and fill out the relevant form from the Yangju City website, and then visit the Yangju City Child Youth Division Child Friendly Team or apply via e-mail (yangju0808@korea.kr).

 

Lim Soo-bin, head of the child-friendly team at the Children's and Youth Division of Yangju City, said, "Regarding the achievements of the first child participation committee, we started the launching ceremony on April 17, 2021, and conducted projects such as the environmental poster contest, the Clean Air Day campaign, and a special lecture to motivate children's participation. He also held a policy briefing session and suggested five things, including the types of play facilities in the Children's and Youth Culture Center and measures to prevent youth smoking'.
