[브레이크뉴스 양주 = 김완영 기자] 경기도 북부지역은 의외로 장사시설이 없는 열악한 지역에 속해 시민들이 원정 화장시설을 찾아야되는 불편을 감수해야만 한다.

이에 강수현 양주시장은 민선 8기 핵심 공약으로 종합장사시설 건립을 시민들과 약속했다. 모집공고와 마을 설명회, 선진장사시설 견학 등을 거쳐 5곳의 지역에서 신청을 지난 16일 마감했다.

양주시에 접수한 지역은 봉양2통, 봉암리, 방성1리, 도하1리, 비암1리이다.

한편 양주시는 접수한 지역에 대한 타당성 용역을 거쳐 종합장사시설건립추진위원회에서 심의한 뒤 최종 시장이 결정하게 된다.
