[브레이크뉴스 양주 = 김완영 기자] 경기도 양주시(시장 강수현)는 대형병원 유치를 위한 중진료권 분리 및 재설정 건의 서명을 추진 중이라고 6일 밝혔다.
 
 2023-2027 제3기 기본시책(보건복지부)에 따르면 양주시는 현재 의정부 진료권으로 편제돼 병상 수급 공급과잉의 사유로 병상 공급 제한지역으로 구분되어 있어 추가 병상 공급이 제한될 뿐만 아니라 더욱이 점진적으로 병상수가 축소될 예정이다.
 
 이는 성장인구에 비례하는 의료환경의 변화를 위한 양주시의 노력에 제동이 걸리게 되며 대형병원과 같은 상급의료기관 유치가 불가능하게 되어 입원이 필요한 환자의 대다수가 현재와 같이 관외 의료기관을 이용 할 수밖에 없다.
 
시 관계자에 따르면 양주시는 응급의료시설조차 없는 경기 북부의 유일한 의료취약지로써 적정시간 내에 급성기 진료를 제대로 받을 수 없는 지역일 뿐만 아니라 코로나19 등 감염병 발생 시 병상이 없어 타 시군으로 이송하는 등 감염병 대응을 위한 필요 병상도 없는 상황이다.
 
이에, 시는 대형병원 유치 및 의료이용, 의료생활권 등 지역특성을 고려한 양주시 별도 또는 인근 시·군과의 새로운 진료권 재설정을 위해 온라인, 오프라인을 통하여 중진료권 분리 및 재설정 건의 서명운동을 적극 전개할 방침이다. 
 
양주시민 A 씨는“지난 윤석열 대통령이 부산 국제금융센터에서 열린 대통령 직속 지방시대위원회의 ‘지방시대 선포식’에서 지역에 변변한 쇼핑몰 하나 짓지 못한 채 어처구니없는 그러한 정치적 상황을 더이상 국민들께서 허용하지 않을 것”이라고 말했다“라며 ”초 고령화시대에 사는 양주시민에게는 쇼핑몰보다 양질의 의료서비스가 더욱 중요하다“라고 울분을 토해 말했다.
