[김완영 기자 = 동두천] 동두천시는 지난 29일 시청 상황실에서 동두천시 철도건설기금 심의 위원회 위원을 위촉하고 첫 회의를 개최했다.
 
위원회는 동두천시 철도사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 동두천시 철도건설기금의 효율적인 관리 및 운용에 관한 사항을 심의하기 위해 구성되었다.
 
이날 위원회는 GTX-C 노선 동두천 연장사업과 경원선 증편 등 철도사업 확정 시 소요되는 사업비 530억 원 중 100억 원의 기금을 적립하기 위한 2023년도 철도건설기금 운용계획(안)을 심의 의결하고 철도사업 추진현황 등에 대한 의견을 나눴다. 
 
박형덕 시장은 “동두천시의 열악한 재정 상황에도 시의 최우선 현안 사업인 GTX-C 동두천 연장 확정을 관계부처에 피력하기 위해 철도사업기금 재원 적립을 추진하고, 향후 사업 확정 시 기금을 통한 원활한 재정지원을 약속하겠다”고 말했다.
