한국 근현대미술의 대표작가 장욱진의 미술작품과 자료를 전시하는 장욱진 미술관은 장 화백의 호랑이 그림 ‘호작도’와 집의 개념을 모티프로 지은 독특한 건축 양식으로 영국 BBC 2014 위대한 8대 신설 미술관에 이어 지난 10월 문화체육관광부 로컬 100선에 선정된 곳이다.
시민이 공감할 수 있는 다양한 전시와 프로그램 등을 볼 수 있으며 특히, 미술관과 개울 사이에는 조각공원이 있어 관람은 물론 가을 단풍이 어우러진 공원 사이로 산책과 가족 단위 나들이로 안성맞춤이다.
장욱진미술관과 계곡물을 사이에 둔 장흥조각공원은 울긋불긋 물든 주변 단풍과 어울려 가을옷을 입은 다양한 형태의 조각들이 눈길을 끈다.
장욱진미술관과 길 하나를 두고 마주 보고 있는 양주시립민복진미술관은 한국의 대표적인 조각가 민복진의 작품을 기증받아 만들어졌다.
두 미술관을 품은 이곳은 자연이 선사하는 여백의 미와 함께 예술 작품이 전달하는 즐거움까지 두루 만끽할 수 있는 그야말로 예술의 명당이다.

양주 관아지는 조선시대부터 일제 강점기까지 417년간 양주목을 다스리던 관청이 있던 곳으로 1999년 4월 23일 경기도 기념물로 지정됐다.
양주목사가 집무했던 동헌 부속시설과 내아 복원을 한 양주 관아지는 고산자 김정호 선생이 양주의 진산(鎭山)이라고 기록한 불곡산 줄기에 둘러싸여 역사적 위용을 과시하고 있다.
전철 1호선 양주역과 인접하여 관광객의 접근성이 좋으며 주변에 양주별산대놀이마당, 양주향교 등 곳곳에 역사문화 자원이 산재해 있다.
