양주시 '정성호-안기영 국회의원 후보'는 물류단지 해결에 진정성 있어야 한다
양측 서로 잘못했다는 정치적 싸움보다 양주시민을 위한 대안을 제시하는 후보에게... 공약(公約)을 공약(空約)이 안돼게 시민들이 판단해야 한다

[김완영 기고 = 브레이크뉴스 경기북부] 경기도 양주시에서도 제22대 총선의 화살이 당겨졌다. 민주당 정성호 후보와 국민의힘 안기영 후보가 또 다시 맞붙은 지역은 '동두천시양주시연천군 갑'선거구이다. 즉, 양주시에서 은현면과 남면을 제외한 전지역에서 단 한명의 국회의원을 뽑는 선거이다.
그동안 양주시 옥정신도시내 물류단지부지를 둘러싼 '허가와 취소'를 두고 양주의 정치권은 선거때마다 시끄럽다. 지난 2년전 지방선거에서도 옥정신도시 이슈가 물류단지 취소였다.
사실은 이렇다. 지난 민선 7대 양주시장은 민주당의 이성호 시장이었다. 그는 재선에 당선되자마자 병환으로 4년간 거의 시정을 내 팽겨친 가운데 민선 8대 양주시장 선거 바로 직전에 물류단지가 허가 처리됐다.
즉, 물류단지 허가는 민주당 시장시절에 처리됐고, 물류단지허가 취소 공약은 당선된 국민의 힘 시장이 내 걸었지만 '감사원 감사와 대규모 소송'을 염려한 현 시장이 공약이행을 못하면서 양측의 정치권인 국민의힘과 민주당이 서로에게 책임공방에만 열중하고 있는 실정이다.
아마도, 양측은 총선 선거기간 내내 '네탓이다 ~'라고 책임공방만 할 것이다. 이런 무책임한 정치권의 싸움에 양주시민들은 염증을 느낀다. 책임을 지는 정당이 없다는 것이다.
이번 총선은 양주시 발전을 위해서는 매우 중요한 선거이다. 양주시는 2035년 도시계획인구가 약 50만을 목표로 하고 있다. 그렇다면, 도시기반 시설확충과 교통대책 마련 등 획기적인 공약을 시민들은 눈여겨 보아야 할 것이다.
지난 지방선거에서 모 후보의 공약에서 '경제자유구역'을 외친 적이 있다. 허무맹랑한 것처럼 들릴지는 몰라도 양주시가 경기북부의 중심도시로 성장할 수 있는 대전환의 개혁적인 공약이 필요하다. 그래야 삶의 가치실현과 시민들의 재산증식에도 도움이 된다.
양 후보측에 바란다. 옥정신도시 물류단지부지와 관련해 정치공방을 멈추고, 양측 모두 정책적 공약을 시민들에게 약속해 주길 바란다. 책임정치를 시민에게 보여주는 성숙한 시민의 한사람으로 기대하고 싶다 쇼는 이제 그만하길 바란다. (이상)

The truth is this: The 7th popularly elected mayor of Yangju was Mayor Lee Seong-ho of the Democratic Party. As soon as he was re-elected, he almost abandoned the city administration for four years due to illness, and the logistics complex was approved just before the 8th popular Yangju mayoral election.
In other words, the logistics complex permit was processed during the Democratic Party mayor's time, and the pledge to cancel the logistics complex permit was made by the elected Mayor of People Power Party, but the current mayor, concerned about 'audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection and large-scale lawsuits', was unable to fulfill his pledge, leading to political circles on both sides. The People Power Party and the Democratic Party are only focused on blaming each other.
Most likely, both sides will only argue about responsibility, saying 'It's your fault' throughout the general election period. Yangju citizens are sick of this irresponsible fight among politicians. The point is that there is no party responsible.
This general election is a very important election for the development of Yangju City. Yangju City is targeting an urban planning population of approximately 500,000 in 2035. If so, citizens should pay attention to groundbreaking promises, such as expanding city infrastructure and preparing transportation measures.
In the last local election, a candidate called for a 'free economic zone' in his pledge. It may sound absurd, but Yangju City needs a reformative pledge for a major transformation that can help it grow into a central city in northern Gyeonggi Province. This will help realize the value of life and increase the wealth of citizens.
I hope so for both candidates. I hope that the political battle over the Okjeong City logistics complex site will stop and both sides will promise their policy commitments to citizens. I hope that he will become a mature citizen who demonstrates responsible politics to citizens. I hope the show will end now. (more)
