<김일웅기자=경기도> 경기경제자유구역청은 5일 오후 2시 평택시 포승읍 소재 평택항마린센터 8층 회의실에서 ‘경기경제자유구역 발전계획 변경 수립 연구용역’ 착수보고회를 개최했다. 

보고회에는 최원용 청장, 김응태 경기산학연구원장, 정형곤 대외경제정책연구원 선임연구위원 등이 참석했다. 

연구용역은 경기경제자유구역 평택 현덕지구 소송 종결과 개발에 따른 발전 계획 변경 수립을 위한 것이다. 경기도 경제자유구역의 향후 10년간 발전 전략과 추진계획 및 달성 목표, 핵심사업 발굴, 투자유치 활성화 방안, 지역별 산업 특성 및 투자유치 전략에 맞는 신규사업 개발, 혁신생태계 조성 방안 등이 담길 예정이다.

최원용 경기경제자유구역청장은 “글로벌 공급망 재편과 블록경제 가속화로 미래전략산업 확보를 위한 대응이 시급한 상황이다”며 “발전계획 수립을 통해 다양한 분야에서 혁신을 이루고자 한다. 이번 연구용역은 경기경제자유구역의 새로운 변화를 위한 마중물이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

한편 경기경제자유구역 발전계획 변경 수립 연구용역은 산업부의 제3차 경제자유구역기본계획 비전에 맞춰 ‘지역발전과 함께하는 글로벌 첨단비즈니스 거점’ 조성을 목표로 지난 3월부터 내년 1월 초까지 약 10개월간 추진된다.
