<김일웅기자= 경기도> 경기도를 대표하는 최고의 숙련기술인을 선발하는 ‘2024년 경기도 기능경기대회’가 1일 수원컨벤션센터에서 개막했다.

이날 개막식에는 김동연 경기도지사, 임태희 경기도 교육감, 이우영 한국산업인력공단 이사장 등 내외빈 200여 명이 참석해 대회 참가 선수와 행사관계자를 격려했다.

‘경기도 기능경기대회’는 경기도와 경기도교육청이 공동 주최하고, 한국산업인력공단 경인지역본부가 주관하는 행사로 오는 5일까지 수원·안산·남양주 등 도내 5개 지역에서 진행된다.

대회 종목은 기계설계, 용접, 화훼 장식, 요리, 3D프린팅, 산업용 드론제어 등 전통제조업부터 서비스, 미래산업 분야까지 총 49개다. 총 513명의 숙련기술인이 참가해 150개 내외의 메달을 걸고 그동안 갈고닦은 기량을 겨루게 된다.

대회 입상자에게는 상장과 메달, 최고 130만 원의 시상금이 수여되고, 해당 직종 기능사 실기시험 면제 등의 혜택도 받을 수 있다. 이중 금·은·동·우수상 입상자 150여 명의 선수에게는 오는 8월 경상북도에서 개최되는 제59회 전국기능경기대회에 경기도 대표로 출전할 수 있는 기회가 부여된다.

이번 대회는 모든 경기장을 개방해 도민들이 자유롭게 관람할 수 있도록 했다. 특히 열린 경기장인 컨벤션센터에는 숙련기술체험관과 채용박람회를 운영해 미래자동차 자율주행 체험, 드론운전 시뮬레이션 등 4차 산업혁명 숙련기술을 체험할 수 있도록 하고, 중․고교생 대상 직업 진로상담을 통한 진학․직업탐색의 기회도 부여한다.

김동연 경기도지사는 이날 “경기도는 기술인 양성에 있어 전통을 갖고 있는 대한민국의 자랑”이라며 “선배들의 전통을 이어받고, 선배들을 능가하는 기능인으로 미래 대한민국을 선도하는 청년들로 커 나가기를 기대한다”고 말했다. 

그러면서 “그동안 닦고 쌓은 실력과 기량을 유감없이 발휘하고 입상하지 못하더라도 이 대회를 통해서 많은 것을 경험하고 배우고 즐기기를 바란다”고 덧붙였다.

For this competition, all stadiums were open so that residents could freely watch.
