<김일웅기자=포천가평> 지난 11일 국민의힘 포천 가평선거구 국회의원 후보 경선을 벌이고 있는 김성기 권신일 두 후보가 남은 기간 동안 페어플레이를 통해 정정당당한 경쟁을 펼치고, 후보가 정해진 뒤에도 국민의힘 총선 승리를 위해 적극 협조할 것을 약속했다고 밝혔다. 

최근 붉어진 포천·가평 경선 후보자 간의 불협화음을 딛고 경선에 최선을 다하려는 권신일 후보와 김성기 후보 간의 전화통화가 이뤄졌다. 이 두 후보는 정정당당한 경쟁을 펼쳐 유권자들이 실망하게 하지 말자는 약속을 한 것으로 확인됐다.

권신일후보는 본지와 통화에서 “자신은 누구를 해하려고 하질 않는다며 그냥 남은 기간 열심히 경선에만 전념하겠다”라고 밝혔다. 또, “유권자들에게 진심을 다해 노력하는 모습으로 보답하겠다.”라고 말했다.

이어 김성기 후보는 “권신일 후보와 함께 진정한 페어플레이가 뭔지 보여주고 싶다”라고 말하며 “국민의 힘 후보가 확정된 후에도 총선 승리를 위해 권 후보와 자신은 적극적 협조를 할 것이다”라고 말했다.

오는 12~13일 양일간 국민의 힘 공천관리위원회는 1차 경선에 돌입했다. 14일 1차 경선 발표 후 곧바로 15일 결선을 치를 예정이다. 국민의 힘 결선 최종 발표는 16~17일 사이가 될 것으로 보인다.
