가평군 가평사랑 청년모임 회원20여명이 10일 국민의힘 김성기 국회의원예비후보 지지선언을 하면서 릴레이를 이어가고 있다. 이는 지난 비 가평출신 국회의원들이 그동안 가평을 무시한 결과라는 얘기가 20대~70대까지 돌고 있을 정도다. 가평사랑 청년모임 회원들의 이 같은 움직임은 가평의 변화를 통해 지역 발전을 도모하고 고향을 잘 사는 지역으로 만들어 보겠다는 의지가 담겨 있는 것으로 파악된다. 

 

과거 가평은 타 지역과 선거구가 묶이면서 단 한 차례도 가평출신 국회의원을 배출하지 못했고 타 지역이 발전하는 동안 가평은 살기 어려운 곳으로 전락됐다는 볼멘소리가 이번 총선을 통해 터져 나온 것으로 파악됐다.
