<김일웅 기자> 지난 2일 외교부 공식 인가 사단법인인 세계경제문화교류협의회(ECI)가 서대문 남가좌동에 ECI 갤러리를 OPEN했다. 이를 기념하기 위해 박수복 화백이 신 몽유도원도를 그리는 퍼해밍 액션 퍼포먼스를 펼쳤다.

ECI는 국보급 문화재인 몽유도원도를 국내 영구반입을 위해 다방면으로 노력해 일본으로부터 영구반환을 이끌어냈다. 조선 시대 역사상 ‘산수화 절정’, ‘불세출 걸작’으로 평가받는 몽유도원도는 세종 29년인 1447년에 그려졌다. 가로, 세로 길이만 11.2m, 8.57m에 이른다. 예술적 가치와 더불어 안평대군과 김종서, 정인지, 신숙주, 성삼문 등이 작성한 찬시까지 더해져 역사적 가치 또한 높다. 

ECI, 류영준 이사장은 “‘ECI 갤러리(아트센터) 오픈을 기념하고 몽유도원도 영구반환 계약 성과를 자축하기 위해 박수복 화백을 초청 ‘신 몽유도원도를 그리다’라는 특별전을 오는 4월 3일까지 개최한다.”라고 밝혔다.

박 화백은 미술품 경매 사이트 미국 이베이에 300억원 규모 작품을 올린 한국 미술계를 대표하는 화가 가운데 한 명이다. 이날 오픈식과 함께 열리는 특별전에서는 박수복 화백이 ‘신 몽유도원도를 그리다’를 주제로 ‘퍼해밍 액션 퍼포먼스’를 펼친다. 퍼해밍 액션 퍼포먼스는 퍼포먼스와 해프닝의 합성어다. 작가가 오케스트라 연주 동안 받은 영감을 즉석에서 화폭에 담아내는 것이다.

그동안 ECI는 일본으로 유출된 우리 문화유산을 반환하는데 총력을 기울여왔다. 박 화백은 20여년 전 안견이 출생한 충남 서산 지곡면에 터를 잡았고, 지난해에는 영감을 받아 ‘운중몽(雲中夢)’이라는 작품을 탄생시켰다. 안견이 안평대군의 꿈을 몽유도원도로 표현했다면, 박 화백은 구름 속 꿈을 통해 다차원 세계를 3차원 세계로 그려냈다.

ECI는 이번 갤러리 오픈과 관련 박수복 화백의 신 몽유도원도를 재해석하는 행사에 대해 “조선 시대 화가 안견과 현대 화백 박수복이 ‘신몽유도원도’를 통해 500여년 시공차를 뛰어넘는 감동적인 순간에 많은 국민이 함께하기를 기대한다.”라고 말하며 많은 관람과 참여를 부탁드린다고 말했다.
