<김일웅 기자> 지난 1월 31일 세계경제문화교류협회(ECI) 류영준 이사장과 한국기독교총연합회 정서영 대표회장은 ‘STOP WAR’라는 슬로건을 걸고 한기총 세미나실에서 세계 평화를 위한 캠페인 행사를 진행했다. 

 

이날 정서영 목사는 제35회기 한기총 대표회장의 공식 첫 일정을 ‘전쟁 종식’을 위한 아이스 버킷으로 시작해 눈길을 끌었다. 이 행사는 지구촌에 전쟁으로 많은 젊은이가 목숨을 잃고 무고한 국민의 희생을 막기 위해 진행됐다.

 

지구촌 곳곳에 들불처럼 번지는 전쟁으로 무고한 국민의 희생과 기아로 고통을 받는 상황을 종식해야 한다는 사명감이 75세의 정서영 한기총 대표회장을 ‘아이스 버킷 챌린지’로 이끌었다. 전쟁으로 죽어가는 무고한 생명 들을 위한 기도를 마치고 정서영 한기총 대표회장은 세계 평화 캠페인의 첫 주자가 됐다.

또, 정서영 대표회장과 공동으로 ‘STOP WAR’ 챌린지에 나선 작가 출신 일리나 클립코는 우크라이나에서 벌어진 전쟁의 참상을 만천하에 알리고 전쟁을 중단시키기 위하여 연달아 얼음물을 뒤집어쓰며 전쟁에서 고통받고 있는 사람들의 아픔을 잠시나마 함께 나눴다.
