<김일웅기자= 포천>지난 9월 포천시는 교육부가 주최한 ‘2023년 인문도시 지원사업’에 선정되 경기북부 첫 인문도시로의 한발짝 더 나아가게 됐다고 밝혔다. 

인문도시는 지역 대학 간 상호 협력을 구축하고 지역 인문자산을 발굴해 인문생활을 장려하는 학술 지원사업이며, 대진대와 함께 ‘ 주상절리 포천’을 주제로 포천이 가지고 있는 풍부한 인문자산을 활용해 품격있는 인문도시를 만들겠다고 밝혔다.

포천시의 이번 인문 도시조성 목표는 시민 모두가 누릴 수 있는 생활 인문환경을 만들고, 시민이 참여하고 만들어 가는 인문 도시 포천으로서 거듭나겠다는 것이다.

포천시는 확보한 4억2천만원의 사업비를 3년간 투입 ‘주상절리 포천의 생태인문학․평화인문학․회복인문학’을 3개년으로 추진하며, 포천이 가진 인문학적 가치를 ‘인문강좌, 인문체험, 인문주간’ 등의 다채로운 사업을 통해 인문 콘텐츠로 재조명하겠다고 말했다.

이번 사업의 성공을 위해 포천시는 인문 도시조성 추진협의회를 구성,

첫 주민발안조례로 제정을 추진해 시민 관심 확산과 인문 도시로서의 기반을 다지고 누구나 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 생활 인문을 포천시민들이 누릴 수 있게 하겠다는 방침이다.

이외에도 포천시만의 특화된 인문 도시 실천 로드맵을 구상으로 14개 전체 읍면동 주민 자치위원회와 협약을 체결, 행복 학습센터 인문 학당을 운영, 올해 3월 시민 참여포럼 ‘인문 도시 포천으로 가는 길’을 개최해 ‘시민이 만들어 가는 품격 있는 인문 도시 포천’ 비전을 선포했다.

또, 인문 활동 대중화를 위해 브랜드 및 인문 제안사업 공모전을 추진

다채로운 인문 프로그램을 기획․운영 및 명사 초청 인문학 강연 등.

포천만의 향토 문화를 더한 ‘포천인문살롱’, 인문도시 발전 방향에 뿌리를 내릴 수 있도록 다양한 인문 사업을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

백시장은 “경기북부 최초로 인문도시 지원사업에 선정되어 민선8기 핵심 시정방향인 ‘품격있는 인문도시’ 구현에 다가가게 되었다. 인문자산을 향유하고, 인문학적 소양을 함양하는 데 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다”며, “시민 모두 가치있고 행복한 삶을 영위하도록 최선을 다하겠다. 시민 여러분의 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
