[안종욱 기자=경기북부] 지난 27일 조광한 남양주시장이 오남읍 소재 한양병원을 방문해 마약사범 검거 중 부상을 입은 남양주 북부경찰서 소속 경찰관을 격려했다.

 이날 방문은 지난 22일 환각 상태의 마약사범을 체포하던 중 마약사범이 휘두른 흉기에 부상을 입은 경찰관 2명을 격려하고, 남양주시 치안을 위해 애쓰는 경찰관들에게 감사의 마음을 전하기 위해 마련됐다.

 조 시장은 부상을 입은 경찰관에게 “범인 검거 중에 심한 부상을 입어 무척 안타깝고, 가족들에게도 미안한 마음이 든다.”라며 “일선에서 범죄 예방과 치안을 위해 불철주야 희생하는 경찰관들의 노고 덕분에 남양주 시민이 안전하게 생활하고 있다. 정말 감사하다.”라고 빠른 쾌유를 기원했다. 

 이에 부상을 당한 경찰관도 “경찰관으로서 당연히 할 일을 했을 뿐인데, 이렇게 시장님께서 직접 방문해 주셔서 정말 감사하다. 치료 후 퇴원해서도 남양주 시민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 믿음직한 경찰로서 역할을 수행하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.

한편, 남양주북부경찰서는 작년 12월 23일 개서하여 진접읍, 진건읍, 오남읍, 퇴계원읍, 별내면, 별내동의 6개 행정구역 내 29만 시민들의 치안을 담당하고 있다.

Namyangju City encourages police officers injured during arrest of drug offenders

Mayor Cho told the injured policeman, “It’s very regrettable that I was seriously injured during the arrest.

 [Reporter Ahn Jong-wook = North Gyeonggi Province] On the 27th, Mayor Jo Gwang-han visited Hanyang Hospital in Onam-eup and encouraged a police officer from Namyangju Northern Police Station who was injured during the arrest of a drug offender.

 The visit was designed to encourage two police officers who were injured by a weapon wielded by a drug offender while arresting a hallucinated drug offender on the 22nd, and to express gratitude to the police officers who are striving for the security of Namyangju.

 Mayor Cho said to the injured policeman, “I am very sorry that I was seriously injured during the arrest of the criminal, and I am sorry for my family.” I am living. Thank you very much.” I wished for a quick recovery.

 The injured policeman also said, “As a police officer, I only did my job, but I am very grateful for the mayor's personal visit. Even after being discharged from the hospital after treatment, I will play a role as a reliable police officer to protect the lives and property of Namyangju citizens.”

Meanwhile, the Namyangju Northern Police Station opened on December 23 last year, and is in charge of the security of 290,000 citizens in six administrative districts in Jinjeop-eup, Jingeon-eup, Onam-eup, Toegyewon-eup, Byeolnae-myeon, and Byeolnae-dong.
