이날 기자회견을 한 김성기 예비후보는 출마의 변에서 “지역발전의 저해 요인을 완화하고 포천‧가평의 발전을 위한 새로운 변화를 일으키는 국회의원이 필요하다.”고 이같이 말하며 자신의 총선 출마의 당위성을 어필했다.
