해당 아파트는 단지 내 어린이놀이터 한 곳에 지하 주차장과 연결된 환기구가 설치돼 어린이들의 안전한 놀이환경을 저해한다는 민원이 지속해서 제기됐던 곳이다.

의정부시 관계자는 "지난달 현장 조사 결과 아파트 조경공사 중 어린이놀이터 위치를 변경하는 과정에서 변경될 위치에 이미 설치된 환기구를 고려하지 않은 것으로 파악된다"고 전했다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “조속한 시일 내에 현장 관계자와 협의해 해당 시설을 철거 조치하겠다”고 말했다.
