The health care team, consisting of 11 people from 4 countries including Laos, Cambodia, Tanzania, and Uganda, who are participating in the 'Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Infectious Disease Response Specialist Course' conducted by the Korea International Health and Medical Foundation (KOFIH), visited the Hongcheon-gun Public Health Center on March 18th. It said that it benchmarked the know-how of visits, prevention and management of cardiovascular disease in the community and response to infectious diseases.

The 'Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program' is an official development assistance project named after the late Dr. Lee Jong-wook, who served as the 6th Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). It was said that it was a training program that invited people to Korea for education.

The Hongcheon-gun Public Health Center introduced the know-how of the high blood pressure and diabetes registration management project, which has been selected as an excellent institution for community health projects several times over the years. He said that he shared cases such as permanent education for the management of high blood pressure and diabetes, and support for medical and pharmaceutical expenses.

In particular, in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, the non-face-to-face training using YouTube was introduced and received a lot of attention from the training group. They shared cases of operation, etc., and said that they had a field trip to the Hongcheon-gun screening clinic, which is focusing its efforts on responding to COVID-19.

Won Eun-sook, head of the Hongcheon County Health Center, said, "I hope that Hongcheon County's know-how in responding to infectious diseases and cases of cardiovascular disease prevention and management projects will be of great help to the training team's strengthening of infectious disease prevention and health projects in their home countries."
