[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 18일 캠코(한국자산관리공사)는 대한적십자사 본사(서울 중구)에서 대한적십자사에 최근 대형 산불로 특별재난지역으로 지정된 강원, 경북 지역*의 피해 복구를 위한 성금 1억원을 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

* 강원 강릉·동해·삼척시, 경북 울진군을 특별재난지역으로 선포(’22.3.6 및 3.8)

이번 전달한 성금은 대한적십자사를 통해 산불피해 지역 이재민들의 구호활동과 피해복구 지원에 쓰일 예정이며, 피해 복구 성금에 더해 캠코는 특별재난지역 내에 있는 캠코 사업 관련 이해관계자인 신용회복 신청자, 조세 체납자 등을 위한 금융지원 방안도 병행하여 전개할 계획이라고 했다.

우선, 산불로 인한 재산피해 사실이 확인된 주민이 채무조정 신청시 채무 특별감면 및 상환유예하고, 조세 체납자의 납세 유예 신청시 최장 1년까지 압류재산 공매 보류하고 납부촉구도 중단할 예정이라고 했다. 

아울러, 캠코는 특별재난지역내 국유재산 사용 고객에 대한 사용료 감면 등의 지원방안도 추가로 검토하는 등 피해 지원을 전방위적 노력을 기울일 방침이라고 전했다. 

권남주 캠코 사장은 “이번 대형 산불로 인해 피해를 입은 지역주민들이 일상생활로 복귀하는 데에 조금이나마 보탬이 되길 바란다”며, “캠코는 공공기관으로서 본연의 업(業)과 연계하여, 특별재난지역 주민들의 피해 복구 지원을 위한 노력에 온 힘을 쏟을 것”이라고 강조했다.

한편, 캠코는 대한적십자사와 소외된 이웃들을 위한 사랑의 빵 나눔 봉사활동부터 다문화가족 지원 사업, 희망Replay 제주도 가족여행, 코로나19 의료진 지원까지 사회적 가치를 구현하기 위한 다양한 노력을 함께 기울이고 있다고 전했다.
