자동차 소유자는 누구나 관련법에 따라 자동차 의무보험에 가입해야 하는데, 자동차 의무보험은 자동차 교통사고 발생 시 사고 피해자에게 신속하고 적정한 손해배상을 보장해 예기치 못한 사고 발생 시 보험사를 통해 피해 배상을 담보함으로써 사고 책임자의 경제적 부담을 덜어준다고 했다.
