포천시는 다소 부진한 사업에 대한 해결방안을 모색하고 전략을 재정비했으며, 코로나19 등 다양한 이유로 지연되고 답보상태에 놓인 사업을 보완하고 목표를 재설정하는 등 원활한 사업추진을 위해 총력을 기울이고 있다고 했다.

포천시는 도시 발전의 초석이 되는 교통 인프라 구축을 주요 공약사업으로 두고 다양한 사업을 추진 중이며, 특히 옥정-포천 광역철도 건설사업이 시민의 기대를 받으며 순항하고 있다고 전했다. 

지난 2019년 국가균형발전프로젝트에 선정되어 예비타당성조사가 면제된 이후 시는 사업계획 적정성 검토를 완료했으며, 지난해 기본계획(안) 공청회 및 전략환경영향평가 설명회를 마쳤는데, 특히 제4차 대도시권 광역교통 시행계획에 옥정-포천선이 반영되며 사업 추진에 더욱 탄력을 받게 됐고, 도시철도 사업 대비 10%의 국비 지원은 물론 도비를 함께 지원받아 철도건설에 드는 예산 1,675억 원을 절감하게 됐다고 했다.

하송우리~마산간 도로 확·포장공사는 지방도 360호선의 일부 구간인 소흘읍 하송우리부터 가산면 마산리를 잇는 도로를 확장하는 사업으로, 576억 원의 사업비가 투입되는데, 해당 구간은 기업체가 산재해 있으며, 교통량이 많아 준공 시 동서축을 연결하는 지방도로의 기능을 확보하고, 차량 정체를 완화해 지역 간 균형발전에 도움이 될 것으로 보인다고 했다.
