[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 9일 의정부시는 의정부 내 전철역을 잇는 'U-LIBRARY STATION'을 녹양역에 추가 설치해 스마트도서관 서비스를 시작했다고 밝혔다. 

'U-LIBRARY STATION'이란 시민들이 보다 쉽게 책을 접하고 빌릴 수 있도록 의정부 내 전철역에 조성하여 운영 중인 스마트도서관이며, 2012년 의정부역에 설치된 스마트도서관을 시작으로 회룡역, 가능역, 녹양역 등 총 4개소에 설치되어 있다고 했다. 

의정부 내 전철역에 설치된 스마트도서관은 도서대출 및 반납 기기로 200~400권의 도서를 보유, 연중무휴 지하철 운영 시간 내에 이용이 가능하여, 도서관을 직접 찾지 않고도 의정부시 도서관 회원이라면 누구나 손쉽게 책을 빌리고 반납할 수 있고, 또한 모든 도서는 투입 전 책 소독기로 살균 등 방역처리하여 안심하고 이용할 수 있다고 말했다. 

박영애 도서관운영과장은 “이번에 새로 설치된 녹양역 스마트도서관에는 시민들이 주로 찾는 희망도서 및 베스트셀러 등 200여 권의 신간도서를 비치하여 일상 속 가까운 곳에서 이용자를 만나기 위한 준비를 마쳤다”면서 “시민들이 간편하게 도서를 대출․반납하여 도서와 함께 여유로운 하루를 만들어 갈 수 있길 바란다”고 말했다.
