행복주택은 청년, 대학생 등 젊은 계층과 고령자, 주거급여수급자 등 주거취약계층의 주거안정을 위해 주변 시세의 60~80%수준으로 저렴하게 공급하는 공공임대주택으로, 경기행복주택은 GH에서 공급하는 경기도에 특화된 행복주택이라고 했다.

경기광주역 경기행복주택(광주시 역동 169-11)은 광주역세권 도시개발사업지구 내에 소재한 단지로 인근에 경강선 경기광주역 지하철역이 있어 뛰어난 주거 및 교통여건을 갖추고 있다고 했다. 

이번에 모집하는 세대는 총 244세대로 청년 223세대, 신혼부부·한부모가족 16세대, 주거급여수급자 5세대라고 전했다.
